Dr. Rathin Roy, Director, NIPFP appointed as part-time member of Prime Minister's Economic Advisory Council, Govt. of India

Dr. Rathin Roy, Director, NIPFP has been appointed as part-time member of Prime Minister's Economic Advisory Council (EAC-PM), Government of India. The council is headed by Bibek Debroy, Member, NITI Aayog. Ratan Watal, NITI Aayog’s principal advisor and former Finance Secretary is the member-secretary of EAC-PM. Surjit Bhalla, Economist and Ashima Goyal, Professor, IGIDR are other members of the council.
The EAC-PM is an independent body constituted to give advice on economic and related issues to the Government of India, specifically to the Prime Minister.

NIPFP Chairman, Vijay Kelkar elected as President of the Indian Statistical Institute (ISI)
NIPFP Chairman and former petroleum secretary, Dr. Vijay Kelkar has been elected as President of the prestigious Indian Statistical Institute (ISI). Dr. Kelkar succeeded former RBI governor Dr. C. Rangarajan. He was elected at the general body meeting of the institute, which functions under the Ministry of Statistics and Programme Implementation, an ISI release said. [PTI]

Shri Sumit Bose, Vice Chairman, NIPFP and Dr. Rathin Roy, Director, NIPFP have been appointed as members of a review committee to give recommendations on the FRBM (Fiscal Responsibility and Budget Management) roadmap for future. The Committee shall submit its report to the Government by the 31st of October, 2016.
